I am a mom/step-mom, wife, friend, mentor (and so many other titles), who was juggling what felt like 100 million things, as so many of us do. I suffered from anxiety, depression, constant stress, and never felt like I measured up. All of that stress eventually led to me getting really sick. My fuse was short, I was constantly irritable, riddled with anxiety and eventually started getting more physical symptoms such as acid reflux and spotty vision.
After doing TONS of research, and some testing with a Naturopathic Doctor, I confirmed that my adrenal glands were completely fatigued from long term chronic stress. My hormones were all out of whack.
So I first turned to food therapy. I started paying attention to what I was putting into my body. I was determined to reclaim my life and didn’t want to do it with medication (since the meds I had used for depression and anxiety didn’t work in the past and only created panic attacks). I began to focus on eating clean, whole foods to heal my body from the inside out. I was incredibly amazed at what my body could do to heal itself through food, some lifestyle changes and a little supplementation.
I was sold! I became obsessed with nutrition and REAL food! I realized that healthy food can be delicious, and even better, it can make you look and feel AMAZING!
I realized that this was my purpose! I was inspired by my experience to educate and inspire busy, stressed out people, to be the healthiest version of themselves so that they could live life with more energy, less stress, and love their body!
My passion turned into a career after attending the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I learned over 100 dietary theories and studied under Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr Mark Hyman, Founder and Medical Director of the UltraWellness Center; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and several other nutrition authorities and researchers.
You will hear me talk a lot about food and nutrition, but it is so much more than that! It’s about not only a clean diet that nourishes your body, but also relationships that nourish your soul, the right exercise that fuels your body, a home environment that feeds your creativity, a career that you love, and a life filled with joy!
My passion to inspire and help others reclaim their lives, led to my amazing career as an Integrative Nutrition Coach. In my practice, I have helped several clients find A Healthy Rhythm that works for their unique body so that they can have their best, most fulfilling life with more energy!
